Chapter 1. What's the binary system?


The binary system(Icelandic.Tvíundar kerfið) is important in modern technology(Often computers) and various parts of computers are based on it(example:DVDs).
The binary system itself is based on zeros and ones(0 and 1) to show any positive number in the "normal" number system.
Some binary examples are:11 = 3, 101=5,101001011101 = 2981.
And the other numbers that are used in the system are:
1,2,4,8,16,32,64,128,256,512,1024,2048 etc.(You can see the rule, can't ya'?)


Chapter 2.

How to find out what 100001 means or find out what 12 would be in binary.

The first "1" would=1 the sec,=2 the third=4 the fourth=8 the fifth=16 the sixth=32 the seventh=64 etc.
0 means to skip the number(101=1+4=5(there should be an 2, between 1 and 4 but the zero did skip it.
